Blog A Whole Lotta Dollhood!
I have some great Dollhood news!
For the last 10 months(!) I have been writing and weaving the ridiculous tale that is Dollhood through the darkest parts of the story, those of revelations and loss of hope before the dawn. I’ll admit its been difficult at times to stick to the page, as I was unsure how to work with all the threads in play, or how to heighten them without giving up the game. I also have a very tough time kicking my characters when they are down (which is why I began another story for relief), but after all this effort to delve into her relationships with Cuddles, Cushions, and Alan, I am happy to report that Hope is ready to be saved!
Soon.
The swath of five chapters was initially supposed to be two, but I hope as I release them over the coming weeks one by one, you will understand why this section was expanded (to 23K words!)
Now I want it to be known the finale and epilogue is not complete, but we are incredibly close to finishing Hope’s story.
In the meantime,
Slothargy has once again contributed an illustration to this world, one that him and I have been cooking for quite some time. Its called Going to Night School. It depicts Hope being put to rest under the ‘educational television’ which will spend the whole night indoctrinating her further, as was written in Chapter 27.
This was commissioned, but I think his ability to totally capture my vision and fill it with his own touches on something I have to say plainly: these chapters would not exist without Slothargy’s support and assistance in brainstorming, and editing, and (at times) literal plot outlining! I am incredibly appreciative of his efforts, and happy to finally show this off!
